Each pack has three different flavours – blood orange, pineapple and watermelon.

Shoppers have been quick to compare the consistency of the gummy sweet to that of Haribo’s Giant Strawbs.

The confectioner says the sweets are made without artificial colours and are suitable for vegetarians.

Right now, Haribo fans can bag the new sweets at Sainsbury’s.

From Campbell’s soup to Caramac and Lilt – the iconic foods disappearing from supermarket shelves

Haribo fans were left-gobsmacked last year after discovering the true meaning of the name.

The brand was founded by Hans Riegel, from Bonn in Germany, in 1920.

It’s name is an acronym of the first two letters of “Hans”, “Riegel” and “Bonn”.

Hans launched the company as a kitchen side hustle, with a stool, stove, copper pot, rolling pin and marble slab the company’s only assets.

Haribo’s first employee was his wife Gertrud, whom he hired in 1921.

The brand’s early fans included boffin Albert Einstein and First World War flop Kaiser Wilhelm II, who had gummy bears delivered to him in exile.

Haribo’s key brands in the UK are Starmix, Tangfastics, Supermix and Maoam

It comes after Haribo lovers were shocked to find out the real flavour of the brand’s green gummy bears.

While most people usually assume that the green sweets are apple or lime-flavoured, keen-eyed packet readers have noticed that they are, in fact, strawberry.

There are five flavours of Haribo Goldbear – orange, strawberry, pineapple, lemon and raspberry.

The Sun has recently revealed that huge brands like Walkers and Nestle are putting new flavours on shelves for shoppers to try.

Whether it’s a twist on a classic or something brand new, we all like try new things and find new favourites.

Some brands are even getting experimental and pushing boundaries with new flavours and leaving shoppers divided.

This could be a wacky new chocolate bar or a new flavour of crisps based on items we already know and love.

Just recently, Heinz launched a pickle-flavoured ketchup, which some people described as “fundamentally wrong”.

Pringles have released ketchup flavour crisps that shoppers have been desperate to get their hands on.

Plus, Cadbury has brought out a range of new items, including “heavenly” milkshakes inspired by iconic chocolate bars.

Brands often like to shake-up their products, adding new ones while getting rid of old favourites.
