‘Bold changes’: John Lewis boss Sharon White

John Lewis chairman Sharon White hinted job cuts loom despite hopes for a return to profit this week.

The outgoing boss did not rule them out when asked if they were part of her plans for ‘quite bold changes’.

‘We are trying to simplify the way we work, so that our amazing partners have got more time in front of customers’, she told the BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg yesterday.

‘I’m hopeful, we are making progress,’ she said ahead of figures on Thursday expected to show it back in profit after cost cuts.
