SHOPPERS are gutted as another two Boots stores shuts for good today, leaving customers with “nowhere to go”.
Locals in Welwyn Garden City are saying goodbye to their local pharmacy after the major health and beauty retailer announced plans to close 300 sites.

The decision has been met with fury from some residents, with many describing the store’s closure as “shame”.
Many took to Facebook to vent their disappointment.
“What a shame.” one shopper cried.
Another added: “They always do repeat prescriptions correctly and on time.”

Another wrote: “So upset to read this, use this chemist all the time they are so friendly and go above and beyond to help you.
“What a loss to our community.”
While a third said: “So sad.
“The staff are so friendly and helpful – should have closed one of the other branches instead.”

Customers have been advised to head to a further branch in Welwyn to collect their prescriptions.

Boots are set to close nine branches for good in March.
The affected areas include Cornwall, Newcastle, Norwich, and York.
The move by health and beauty retailer Boots forms part of plans to close 300 sites.
However, Boots lovers won’t be left short, because the locations that are being closed by Boots. will have another Boots store nearby.

Writing on social media in reaction to the news, one shopper said: “Absolutely outrageous situation.”
“No it can’t,” cried another.
And a third user wrote: “What a joke.”

It comes after the health and beauty retailer announced last year it plans to reduce the number of its branches from 2,200 to 1,900.
And staff at Boots’ HQ have been ordered back to the office five days a week after the managing director revealed he wanted the office to be the “normal place of work for the whole week”.
