A MAN who lives in the woods in a hut covered with tin has revealed he drinks river water and uses a tarpaulin to keep dry.

Kevin said he loves his unconventional lifestyle surrounded by nature – despite surviving with no running water.

Kevin has been living an alternative life for over 16 years after purchasing the land he currently lives on.

In a video posted by Liveration on TikTok, the adventurer explained how he built a practical home from basic construction materials and recycled items.

His DIY home boasts a guest wing, fruit trees, raised beds for vegetables, a polytunnel for year-round produce.

In the video, he said: “From here you can see my home, the veranda which is on top of the container and the hats kept it as simple as possible.

“I wrapped it in tin, [it] is reasonably cheap to do and it’s very effective.”

To keep warm, he has to use a solar system he built on top of his small house.

He admitted: “I struggle in the winter a little bit. But then contrary to belief when I go to bed I switch the fridge freezer off.

“I’ve never had food poisoning.”

He also said how he drinks water from the river nearby as he tries to avoid bottled water.

But he has reserved potable water for people who “are fussy”.

Kevin added: “And then if you got people that are really fussy about water and things.

“I do have reserved water which is from a mate’s house. What people like to call ‘proper water’.

“If you want to have chemicals in your body fine.”

Despite the hassle, he said his simple life gives him more freedom and time to enjoy nature.

He claimed living a frugal life helps helps reduce how much he has to work at his job as he can save up on hefty bills.

It comes a hard up dad revealed having to live in a caravan with his six-year-old twins after losing all of his money in a divorce.

Roofer Jim Dunne said he “felt terrible” asking for help from strangers to support his unique way of life.
