But one savvy shopper has revealed the sneaky trick they use to overcome the issue – although many say it’s “despicable”.

In an attempt to help out fellow customers who struggle to pack their bags quick enough, the customer shared a photo to an Aldi Facebook group detailing their hack.

They claim that spacing out individual items all the way down the conveyor belt forces checkout staff to wait for them to slowly reach the till.

As a result, buyers are afforded more time to pack their bags once their items have been scanned through.

The post was captioned: “In your face Aldi. Just so we got time to pack”.

The big reveal left fellow shoppers stunned but many people thanked the person for sharing the tip and suggested they would try it themselves.

One wrote: “Ohhhh I love it! Packing at Aldi should be an Olympic sport!”

A second said: “Round of applause – this is genius.”

However, the post certainly divided opinion in the group and some people hit back at the controversial tactic.

One person spat: “People like you packing their bag at the register is so annoying and selfish. Try packing at the bench like everyone else.”

I work at Aldi – knowing how the shelves are stocked means you get fresher groceries but it can be ‘really annoying’

Another snapped back: “If you can’t handle it, go to Woolies or Coles OR actually use the bench supplied for packing which is away from the checkout.”

A third added: “I despise when people do this.”

Interestingly, two members of the group who claimed to work at Aldi revealed it’s a trick many customers try to employ – and staff have their own methods to overcome it.

One staff member replied: “I have customers do this, I just put my arm up to move the belt, let it all build up then start scanning.”

Another said they do exactly the same, writing: “When I worked at Aldi and people did this, I would hold the first item back from the sensor with my arm until everything piled up.”

Elsewhere, a savvy mum has revealed a game-changing alternative to plastic bags and it’s making the weekly shop a total breeze.

Instead of grappling with bags for life (or juggling items after forgetting them) Canadian mum Jess uses her laundry baskets – and people are convinced she’s a genius.

And another Aldi customer previously shared a simple self-checkout tip that can take all the stress out of shopping.

The shopper known took to social media to share their “pro tip,” which should be used if you don’t have a lot of items in your cart.
