VALENTINE’S Day is upon us and supermarkets are battling it out to offer the cheapest bottles of bubbly.

Shoppers can always save a few quid shopping around for their weekly groceries, especially when it comes to prosecco, champagne and sparkling wines.

Aldi, which was crowned Which?’s cheapest supermarket of the year, is selling a very well-priced bottle of Asti prosecco for just £4.49.

The discounter says the bubbly offers hints of candyfloss and pear drops and an ABV of 7%.

Shoppers can also grab a bottle of Costellore Proccini sparkling wine for £5.25 if you’ve got another quid to spend.

It’s important to remember you’ll have to head into your nearest store as Aldi doesn’t offer home delivery.

For those of you looking to splash out a little more, you can pick up Asda‘s Henri Cachet Champagne for £15.

The ABV 9% bottle is only on sale at Asda, so you won’t find it anywhere else.

The bubbly is described as well-balanced and fruity, with hints of citrus and vanilla.

Love birds looking to snap up a bottle of champers for a bit less can head to Iceland.

The frozen food specialist has a bottle of Maison de la Rougerie Brut Crémant de Bordeaux on sale for just £9.50.

The fizz is said to have hints of orange-blossom flavour, plus it has plenty of five-star reviews on Iceland’s website.

Lidl – Allini Prosecco Treviso Frizzante – £5.49

Lidl’s Allini prosecco stems from the Veneto region of Italy and comes in at £5.49.

The bargain retailer said the bottle of fizz is enjoyed best with an aperitif or canapé, with light and off-dry tasting notes.

You can only buy the bottle in-store though as Lidl doesn’t do delivery either.

Sainsbury’s‘ Prosecco Frizzante comes in at just £6 and is ideal for anyone who likes a bubbly with hints of apple.

The Frizzante is a semi-sparkling wine that the retailer says is ideal for accompanying a salad.

That means it’s great if you’re looking to keep your Valentine’s healthy.

The Italian fizz comes in with an ABV of 10.5%.

Co-op‘s Moscato Rose costs just £5.35 and offers hints of strawberry and cherry.

It’s good news for vegans and vegetarians as the South African bottle is plant-based.

You can’t buy the rose on the website though so you will have to head to your nearest Co-op branch.

Aldi shoppers can pick up a bottle of champers for £12 within days after the retailer slashed the price of its Nicolas De Montbart champagne.

But you’ll only be able to get it until the end of the day today, February 14, in-store.

The bubbly comes with fruit and floral notes, combining champagne with chardonnay, pinot noir and pinot meunier.
