GOOGLE’S new Gemini app has now popped up on the Google Play store.
Gemini is Google’s latest artificial intelligence chatbot, effectively replacing its Bard chatbot.

The tech giant describes the AI software as its “largest and most capable AI model” yet.
Gemini’s capabilities include generalizing and seamlessly understanding text input, and operating across different types of information, such as text, code, audio, image, and video.
“We designed Gemini to be natively multimodal, pre-trained from the start on different modalities,” Google explained.
“Then we fine-tuned it with additional multimodal data to further refine its effectiveness,” it added.
“This helps Gemini seamlessly understand and reason about all kinds of inputs from the ground up, far better than existing multimodal models — and its capabilities are state of the art in nearly every domain.”
And now, the software is available through the Google Play store as a standalone application.
This will help the AI-powered chatbot seamlessly integrate with the Google App.
The launch of the app was leaked by media outlets earlier this week; Google has not yet officially announced the app.

Phone Arena reported that the app “appears to be working in limited capacity at the moment.”
When some users try to download the app, they receive an error stating that “Gemini isn’t currently available. Try again later.”

Based on this message, it’s fair to assume the app is either being gradually rolled out to Android users or potentially has a bug.
The latter seems more likely because some users reported that the error message disappeared after re-installing the app.
It should stand to reason, that an app for Apple iOS users will be available in the future as well.
Those who gained access to the app confirmed that they accessed Gemini either via the app icon, saying “Hey Google,” or by long-pressing the power button.
Gemini is currently available for free but also offers a subscription tier for more advanced features.
This tier sets customers back $19.99 a month and offers 2TB of Google One as a bonus perk.
