A MAJOR supermarket has relaunched its bonus cash scheme earlier than ever before and fans are delighted.

Asda‘s Christmas Saver Cashpot was a new feature in the supermarket’s Rewards app last year and it’s back for another year.

The Christmas Saver Cashpot feature allows customers to save money for spending over the Christmas period.

Last year, 1.7million Asda customers saved money into their cashpot, stashing away an average of £30 towards their Christmas shop.

It has opened seven months earlier compared to last year, when it launched in July 2023.

Asda shoppers have taken to social media to share their excitement about the scheme returning.

Writing in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group, one fan said: “I’m definitely doing this love seeing my pot grow and now it means a hopefully free Christmas shop if I put it all into the Christmas pot.”

Another wrote: “Just done it. Brilliant idea to start this early.”

While a third added: “Just done mine had £15 put into Christmas pot now.”

Customers can transfer savings from their normal Cashpot on the app, into their Christmas Saver Cashpot.

They can do this as many times as you like, up to a maximum of £300 in total.

Asda customers who transfer money into their Christmas Saver Cashpot will also receive a one-off cash boost depending on the amount they transfer.

Here are the amounts that you can earn by transferring funds into the Christmas Saver Cashpot:

  • Transfer £10 – £19 you can earn £1 cash bonus
  • Transfer £20-£24 you can earn £2 cash bonus
  • Transfer £25-£29 you can earn £3 cash bonus
  • Transfer £40 plus and you can earn £5 cash bonus

Cash bonuses will be added to a customer’s Christmas Saver Cashpot between November 20 and November 24.

Customers can then choose to convert their Christmas Saver Cashpot into vouchers to spend either in an Asda store or online between November 24 and December 31.

Vouchers can be created out of the Cashpot with as little as £1 and there is a maximum voucher amount of £100 so whether it is big or small there are plenty of ways you can use the vouchers

Asda Rewards has millions of users and has given customers over £198million back on their shopping since last August.

The Sun has put together a guide to all the supermarket Christmas savings schemes – and how to get £25 free cash.

Meanwhile, Tesco shoppers have been left “gutted” as the supermarket axes its savings scheme in the run-up to Christmas

How does Asda’s loyalty scheme work?

To take part in the loyalty scheme, you’ll need to download the Asda Rewards app which you can find on the Apple App Store and Google Play store.

You’ll need to have an account – if you don’t, it’s pretty easy to sign up. You’ll just need to pop in your name and a couple of other quick details.

Then you can earn cash rewards known as Asda Pounds when shopping in store and online.

You’ll just need to scan the barcode on the app at the checkout. If you’re shopping online, just make sure you’re logged into your account, and then browse as normal.

Usually you can buy certain “star products” which are a mix of branded and Asda own-brand items.

You can see a full list in the dedicated section of the Asda Rewards app, but they’re also marked when you’re shopping online at Asda.com.

You can also earn rewards by completing “missions”, which are usually tasks like spending a certain amount to earn a voucher, or buying certain products to earn another.

There are new missions and events each week so there are plenty of ways for customers to maximise their rewards.

Just be mindful of how much you’re spending – not every deal will be worth the money you spend to get it and remember to look around other shops to see what deals they have to compare.
