GAMERS are rushing to Argos after spotting a “cracking bargain” that essentially throws in a game for free.

Shoppers noticed that you can add one of three titles into your basket at no extra cost when buying a pair of Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers.

In November, the Japanese gaming giant revealed it’s sold more than 132million Switch devices worldwide, making it the company’s best-selling home console ever.

The Switch was first released back in 2017.

So if you’ve had yours for a few years a new set of Joy-Cons might be useful before the battery life dwindles.

They cost £59.99 at Argos as part of this offer, which is the usual price you’ll find them in most other retailers.

“Cracking bargain this,” one user wrote on HotUKDeals.

“I needed replacement controllers so the extra game was a bonus,” another said.

A third commented: “Great price with Metroid, outstanding game.”

The three games you can choose from are:

  • Metroid Dread
  • Everybody 1-2-Switch!
  • Bayonetta 3

Which game should you pick?

Struggling to decide? Here’s a lowdown for each of the games on offer.

Metroid Dread

Metroid Dread is an action-adventure game that was released in 2021.

You play the role of a bounty hunter called Samus Aran, who’s trying to escape from a deadly alien world plagued by a mechanical menace.

Bayonetta 3

Bayonetta 3 is a 2022 action-adventure hack and slash title which comes eight years after the last award-winning game.

You return as the titular angel-hunting witch who now faces man-made bioweapons called Homunculi, as well as a foe called the Singularity threatening to destroy the multiverse.

Everybody 1-2-Switch!

Everybody 1-2-Switch! is a party video game released in 2023 that challenges players with a series of minigames.

Up to eight people can participate with the Joy-Cons with wacky movements, or a maximum of 100 with activity and trivia-based tasks on smartphones.

The most expensive of the bunch is Metroid Dread, which would normally set you back £37.99.

Bayonetta 3 usually sells for £29.99, while Everybody 1-2-Switch! is currently £19.99.

However, stock is running out fast on the games so you’ll have to check whether there is any available to collect from your local Argos store.

All prices in this article were correct at the time of writing, but may have since changed.

Always do your own research before making any purchase.
