A lot of apps have a feature that allows them to update automatically.

This can be useful as you don’t have to manually update your apps to benefit from the latest features.

It becomes an issue if you’re already dealing with a weak internet connection and other buffering issues.

If this is the case, it can be worth turning off automatic updates for apps so they don’t disrupt your streaming while updating in the background.

To turn off automatic app updates, return to your Fire Stick home screen.

Next, select Settings, which is represented by a gear icon.

You should see a menu pop up and you need to scroll to Applications.

Select Applications and then click on Appstore.

Several options will pop up and you need to click on Automatic Updates.

Select to turn Automatic Updates off.

A message will pop up that explains the benefits of Automatic Updates.

It says: “When automatic updates are enabled, Appstore will install new versions of your apps with no additional action needed by you.

“Updates featuring new or changed permissions will not be automatically installed.

“You will have the opportunity to review any new permissions before installing the update.”

If you change your mind, you can follow the same steps to turn them back on.
