According to the retailer’s website, it is “easy to install” and suitable for any pipe diameter.

At first glance, a saving of £48 might not seem a lot on such a hefty bill, but if you combine it with other heat savings tips, it could all mount up.

Draught proofing can save the average household £45 a year, the team said.

You can do this by using rugs, draught excluders or thicker curtains to prevent heat from escaping under doors and between floorboards.

Also, don’t forget to bleed your radiators, as this prevents energy waste by removing excess air and distributing heat more evenly.

Just by increasing the jacket thickness on your hot water cylinder, you can save around £35 a year.

By doing this it keeps your hot water at temperature for longer, without the need to use more energy.

You can also make simple changes to your daily habits that won’t cost you anything.

Always ensure that when you put the heating on the curtains are closed and so are any windows.

This will make sure that all of the precious heat stays in the home and does not escape right out of the window.

You can also try turning your thermostat down by one degree, just this one change could save you up to £100 a year on your energy bill.

Also, millions of households could be wasting an extra £590 on heating costs due to poor or no loft insulation.

We have put together some information on everything you need to know, and explain how you might be eligible for free insulation in your home.
