The biscuits which feature different sporting activities, including cycling and cricket, were a favourite for kids growing up in the 80s.

The buttery shortcake biscuits go well with a nice cuppa as they make perfect dunking material.

The biscuits disappeared from shelves for good in 2022 and fans were devastated.

Fans were so upset they even started a petition named ‘Save the Fox’s Sports Biscuits!’ in a bid to get them back on shelves.

The biscuits were briefly spotted in Farmfoods last year in December for £1 a pack or two for £3 but they have still been hard to find.

Elkes has had a rocky few years, the biscuit maker opened more than 100 years ago in 1908 and produced the first-ever malt milk biscuit.

The brand was acquired by Fox’s Biscuits in 2003, then Fox’s was bought by Ferrero in 2020 for £246 million.

The Sun has reached out to Aldi, Ferrero, Fox’s and Elkes for comment on whether the biscuits will be available in any other stores.

Food lovers took to Facebook to share their joy that the biscuits were coming back.

One Facebook user said: “I remember these at my grandma’s and grandpa’s.”

“OMG OMG YAY!!!” said another.

A third user said: “Yes I’m so happy! Thank you for bringing them back!”

“That unlocks a memory,” said a fourth viewer.

Aldi has confirmed you will be able to find the biscuits for 79p per 200g pack in stores from January 21.

If you can’t make it to an Aldi store you’ll need to turn to an online independent confectionary store.

Bear in mind that prices on these sites start from £1.49 and sometimes go up to a staggering £14.99 for one pack.

Fox’s has continued to keep shoppers on their toes bringing back several fan favourites over the past few months.

Last month shoppers flocked to get their hands on the limited-edition sticky toffee pudding Crunch creams that came back for Christmas.

The brand also made a huge change to its famous Party Rings offering a new choc mini flavour and fans said they couldn’t wait to give them a try.

But this comes after Fox’s confirmed it won’t bring back the discontinued and beloved Echo chocolate bar.

How to save money in Aldi

Aldi is known for its already low prices, so any day you visit the budget supermarket, you’ll likely come across a bargain.

But there are a few things you can do to save even more money.

Reduced prices usually come into effect on Wednesdays so that’s one of the best days to shop.

Every two weeks Aldi carefully selects six products to feature in its Super Six offer, so make sure to check those out.

However, the deal is refreshed every two weeks, shoppers only have a short window to make the most of the offers until they are changed.

The red stickers in Aldi usually indicate an item has been reduced in price, so they should keep their eyes peeled if they are looking for discounted food.
