The all-in-one-English-breakfast dish was axed back in 2020, along with Breakfast Bagels, and Maccies has faced hundreds of calls for its return.

Foodies were then left distraught in January 2022 when it was confirmed neither of the breakfast items would be returning again.

However, after undergoing a bit of a makeover, the wraps are now on their way back.

Since the news broke, foodies have been buzzing on social media.

While a fourth stated: “McDonald’s bringing the breakfast wrap back has been the best choice they’ve ever made.”

And a fifth posted: “McDonald’s Breakfast Wrap making a comeback?

“What a way to start 2024.”

Others declared the move a “game-changer” and ordered their pals to “get this in the calendar”.

But, not everyone is convinced Maccies is bringing back the right item.

The Breakfast Bagels were cut from the brekkie menu at the same time as the wraps, nearly four years ago.

For some, they were the real winners and they won’t rest until the fast-food giant brings them back as well.

Both items featured a sausage patty, a folded egg, and a slice of bacon.

They also included a crispy potato rosti and cheese and served with either tomato ketchup or brown sauce.

The only difference is one was stacked inside a tortilla wrap and one was inside a soft bagel.

Fans of the bagels have not been afraid to share their thoughts on Maccies bringing back the wraps.

One angry foodie commented: “Until they bring bagels back they can f**k off.”

Another defiantly wrote: “We don’t want them, we want the bagels.”

A third said: “I don’t like the wraps it’s the bagels that need to come back.”

And a fourth posted: “GIVE ME MY BREAKFAST BAGEL!!!!!!”

“Nooo I don’t want these, I want the bagels,” a fifth commented.

Others were hopeful that the return of the wraps is a good sign for their beloved bagels.

One posted: “Now just waiting for bagels to reappear..”

A second wrote: “Bagels must be on the way.”

Among the comments on social media were some who were disappointed to see the folded egg had been swapped out for McMuffin style round eggs.

One wrote: “McDonald’s bringing back the breakfast wrap but with two round eggs instead of the folded one is criminal x”

Another echoed this and said: “McDonald’s bringing the breakfast wrap back, but with two of them rank hockey puck eggs instead of an omelette is criminal.”

A third posted: “But it’s not folded egg in it though! I can’t stand the poached egg it’s disgusting.

“Bring back the folded egg in it and the bagel!”

Another simply commented: “Bring back the folded egg!”

For those of you excited to try the returning wraps, you have just over two weeks to wait as they’ll be back on February 7.

The wrap will be served all morning until 11am, when it then switches over to lunchtime and dinner food.

You’ll be able to grab it from 5am if your local Maccies is open 24 hours.

The returning favourite will be available from £4.39 on its own, or £5.89 for a meal with a drink and a hashbrown.

Of course, always remember that prices do vary from restaurant to restaurant so make sure you double-check before you pay.

Fans will need to be quick though because the breakfast snack is only around for a limited time – although if it’s popular it could be made permanent.

What else is on the McDonald’s Breakfast Menu?

The wrap will be joining a whole host of other breakfast items including the iconic McMuffins and Cheesy Bacon Flatbreads.

Its latest addition was the Mighty McMuffin which first debuted in November 2022.

The stacked snack then made a return in March last year and has been on the menu ever since.

How do I find my nearest McDonald’s?

If you’re planning on taking a trip to McDonald’s, you’ll want to know where your nearest branch is.

The chain has a restaurant locator tool on its website you can use to find your nearest one – and check what time it opens.

Bear in mind that McDonald’s serves breakfast every day until 11am.

After that, the menu switches to the normal menu serving meals such as burgers, chicken nuggets and more.
