The original brand, Findus Crispy Pancakes, had been on sale since 1958, and reached peak popularity in the 70s and 80s.

Although the supermarket staple was bought out by BirdsEye a few years ago, the fillings were changed entirely and the Pancakes became 75p more expensive.

Birds Eye claimed to be using more “premium” ingredients for the new-style crispy pancakes, which now come in mozzarella, tomato and mozzarella, and ham and mozzarella flavours.

But customers weren’t satisfied, and have been complaining that the BirdsEye version just isn’t the same.

And shoppers have been going crazy for them.

One savvy saver spotted the product and quickly took to Facebook to share the good news.
