On Thursday, January 18, 2024, Xbox will host a new Developer Direct.

Last year’s Developer Direct was an hour-long showcase featuring five upcoming Xbox games.

It showed the first footage of Hi-Fi Rush, which launched directly after the showcase and was well-received by fans.

This year Xbox has revealed four games which will be shown during the event, with more expected.

The first is the upcoming Indiana Jones game, which is being made by Wolfenstein developer, MachineGames.

It is as of yet unnamed, but the showcase will host 10 minutes of gameplay and developer insights.

We will find out about the game’s setting and story, which have long been kept under wraps.

Next up is Obsidian’s fantasy RPG Avowed which will receive a deep dive for fans.

This section will be focused on the gameplay, such as the world-building and choices matter aspects.

The developer behind the Civilisation series, Oxide Games, will also show exclusive gameplay footage from its upcoming game Ara: History Untold.

Oxide Games will share more about the game’s inspiration, key features, and road map.

The final game we know will be featured in the showcase is the long-awaited Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2.

There will be behind-the-scenes looks with Ninja Theory about the development of the game and the progress so far.

Following the Developer Direct, there will also be a standalone showcase for what’s to come this year in The Elder Scrolls Online.

While Xbox fans are excited for this, they are also nervous that another announcement could be made.

There are fears that Xbox will reveal that some of its exclusive games, such as Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, and Sea of Thieves, will be coming to other platforms.

Xbox fans believe that if the company gives up on its games’ exclusivity, then it may give up on producing consoles altogether.
