The U.S. wants to go back to the moon this year and is looking to profit-seeking companies to make it happen.

Five moon landers made by U.S. companies are due to touch down on the moon in 2024 with NASA devices on board. The first is expected to be launched early Monday, with an expected uncrewed landing next month. If that flight—or one blasting off in February—is successful, the U.S. would be back on the lunar surface for the first time since 1972.
