HEINZ has axed a pudding everyone grew up eating – and it’s not expected to come back no matter how much you miss it.

Baffled shopper Ann Thornton asked Heinz why it stopped making the Taste of Home Super Sticky Treacle Sponge Pudding.

Posting on Twitter, she said: “Why were the treacle and chocolate tinned steamed puddings discontinued?

“We miss them so much. None of the other available puds are as good.

“Please bring them back.”

A Heinz spokesperson said: “Sorry Ann, but there are no plans to bring them back I’m afraid.

Devastated fans paid tribute to the tinned pudding on social media.

One Reddit user said: “I wondered where those went! They were actually quite nice.

“Took ages to steam in a boiling pot or microwave, though.

Another said: “These used to be a godsend during hiking camps in the Scouts.”

A third said: “You could use them as actual bathroom sponges. Or door stops.”

It comes as Cadbury confirmed that the “best chocolate bar it’s ever made” has been discontinued.

Walkers has also confirmed it has axed a hugely popular crisp flavour for good – and shoppers say their sandwiches are ruined.
