XBOX is removing five games this month, but one 97-rated game has particularly hurt players.

Further, an 89-rated and a 93-rated game are leaving Xbox’s library.

All five games are being removed from Xbox Games Pass for Console, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate libraries from January 15, 2024.

The first major title that is being removed from the platform is GTA 5, one of the most popular and best-selling games of all time.

Unlike the other games on the list, GTA 5 will leave Xbox Game Pass on January 5.

Hype for the Grand Theft Auto series is at an all-time high after the first trailer for GTA 6 was shown off by Rockstar in December 2023.

Last month, PlayStation announced that GTA 5 would be coming to its subscription service, PS Plus, and the game was added on December 19.

This is likely the reason why GTA 5 is being removed from the Xbox Game Pass library, as it is a competing subscription service that allows you to play games for free.

The next game on the list is Persona 4 Golden, a 93-rated game that received a re-release early last year.

It is often considered one of the most popular games in the series and was originally exclusively released on the PlayStation Vita.

Golden is now available on multiple platforms, but will soon be removed from Xbox’s subscription service.

Disappearing alongside it is Persona 3 Portable which was re-released at the same time as Golden.

Both are a mix of dungeon crawlers and high school simulators, where you build relationships with people in order to battle together.

Here is the full list of games leaving Xbox Game Pass on January 15.

  • Persona 4 Golden (Cloud, console and PC)
