SHOPPERS have been left stunned by Sainsbury’s bargains that are nearly twice as cheap as Aldi.

As New Year’s approaches, savvy Brits across the nation are preparing the final diner of 2023 – and this deal comes just in time.

Money-savers went wild after the supermarket giant slashed the price of its own brand of chopped tomatoes.

A bargain hunter took to TikTok to share the incredible find to thousands of fellow shoppers.

The content creator said: “Chopped tomatoes for only 20p! I bought seven for £1.40. Stock up.”

A tub of Sainsbury’s own brand chopped tomatoes with basil and oregano normally costs 60p.

But with the offer savvy customers can snap them up for only 20p.

The price comes nearly twice as cheap as supermarket competitor Aldi.

The bargain giant is selling a can of chopped tomatoes in juice for 35p – and a 500g tub of tomato paste for 55p.

Stunned users flocked to the comment section to share their thoughts.

One said: “They’ve been doing well recently pricing items competitively.”

Another claimed: “I swear everything is cheaper in Sainsbury’s.”

A third penned: “It’s got herbs in too so I think it’s will be really good to make some cheap pasta dishes.”

Nectar card owners can also accumulate points when buying the item thanks to the Sainsbury’s loyalty card scheme.

One user explained: “I regularly have 20 extra points on any chopped tomatoes on my nectar. I’d have been all over this.”

But shoppers are urged to rush as the sale is up for a limited amount of time.

A customer said: “It’s not in all Sainsbury’s it’s until stock lasts.”

Using your Nectar Card in store can also give you a third off on selected party food.

This will make the Sainsbury’s Fish Pie Puffs £4 instead of £6 and the Mini Lamb Shawarma Flatbread will go from £6 to £4.

The store also offers an eat-on-the-day collection service, where customers can pick up sandwiches, sushi and cakes made to order. 

However, prices may vary and stock may have limited availability closer to January 1st.
