Is B&Q open during the Christmas holidays?

Shoppers hoping to bag a B&Q buy or two can do so until stores close doors on Christmas Eve at 4pm.

Prior to Christmas Day, shoppers can browse and buy in B&Q stores from 10am until 4pm on Christmas Eve.

The one-stop-shop for all things DIY will then re-open to the public on Wednesday, December 27 at 7am – putting a pause on any Boxing Day B&Q shopping plans.

Normal opening times will commence right up until New Year’s Eve on December 31.

It is important to note that opening hours can vary from one branch to another, depending on where you are located.

You can find your local store and its opening hours by using B&Q’s store locator, which can be found on its website.

Shoppers can also phone ahead too to make sure.

Are other shops closed during the Christmas holidays?

As Christmas arrives, thousands of shops across the UK prepare to close over the festive period – in a bid to give staff more time to spend with their families and friends.

With that being said, it’s important that shoppers plan ahead and make sure to check when their favourite stores are closing – in case there are any urgent last minute buys.

For example, Tesco will be closed on Christmas Day.

Similarly, Aldi stores will be closed on Christmas Day, as well as Boxing Day.

Shops such as Sainsbury’s and Morrisons will also be closed on Christmas Day.

All 400 M&S stores will close for two days over Christmas to give its staff a well-earned break.

Once the retailer closes on Christmas Eve it will not reopen again until December 27.

However, all its stores will be open for longer between December 18 and December 22 – allowing more time to grab some any necessary purchases.

Luckily for shoppers, we have a handy guide with all the important Christmas calendar dates for retailers including, Homebase, Ikea, Screwfix, Waitrose, Home Bargains and Wickes, right here.
