UK says HMS Diamond fired a Sea Viper missile and successfully destroyed target after Yemen rebel attacks

A British navy vessel has shot down a suspected attack drone targeting shipping vessels in the Red Sea, the UK’s defence secretary has said, after Yemeni rebel attacks in the area.

Two of the world’s largest shipping firms, Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd, said they had suspended passage through the Red Sea strait, a vital crossing for global commerce, on Friday.
