Fortnite introduces its most kid-friendly modes yet – and they are free-to-play

FORTNITE has just experienced its biggest event ever, with the vast number of players crashing the game servers.

Such a large number of people came to see Eminem in Fortnite, that they had to schedule repeat performances so everyone could attend.

Chapter 4 is now over, and as Chapter 5 begins, Fortnite is bringing with it three new child-friendly modes of play.

With its cartoony characters Fortnite has long attracted young players, though there has been concerns about exposing children to violence.

As a battle royale, players must take out the opposition with various weapons in order to become number one.

While Battle Royale is the main mode in Fortnite, Epic Games is introducing a number of new modes that are more family friendly.

The first of these is Lego Fortnite, a new mode made in collaboration with Lego with a focus on building using the colourful blocks.

Lego Fortnite will be added into the game on December 7, so there isn’t long to wait until you can give it a try.

Another new mode is made in collaboration with Rocket League, one of the other games owned by Epic Games.

Called Rocket Racing, football seems to have taken a sideline in this one.

Instead, your supersonic acrobatic rocket-powered battle cars will be racing around a more standard track.

The cars will still have the usual Rocket League tricks, but you’ll be racing rather than scoring goals.

This new mode will be released on December 8, just one day after the Lego collaboration.

The final new mode will be called Fortnite Festival, and is in collaboration with the studio that created Rock Band, another Epic Games studio.

Fortnite Festival will allow players to perform on stage with friends or solo to current hit songs.

The Weeknd will be the first featured band when the mode kicks off on December 9.
