Today is Full English Breakfast Day, which is celebrated by millions of people internationally, according to the English Breakfast Society.

‘English breakfast day was originally started by our Chairman to drum up support for a centuries old Anglo tradition and teach others about the history of the full English breakfast,’ it writes on its website

To celebrate the occasion, MailOnline asked ChatGPT to rank the components of a full English.

While the bot began its reply by saying that the ranking ‘can be subjective’, it finally agreed on the five best elements.

Coming out in the top spot is crispy bacon, which ChatGPT called a ‘key element’ in the English breakfast.

This was followed by eggs, with ChatGPT suggesting fried or scrambled would suffice.

‘Fried or scrambled eggs are a crucial part of the meal and add protein,’ the bot explained.

The third most important element is pork sausages, which ‘contribute to the heartiness of the breakfast and are a substantial element,’ according to ChatGPT.

Meanwhile, good old-fashioned toast came in fourth place.

‘Sliced and toasted bread, often with butter, complements the other components and is a common side,’ ChatGPT said.

Finally, the bot claims that a Full English just wouldn’t be complete without some Baked Beans, which it says provide a ‘sweet and savory element to the breakfast’.

The ranking will likely come as a shock to many Britons, with several popular items left unmentioned – including hash browns, grilled tomato, and black pudding.

‘It’s important to note that personal preferences vary, and some people might prioritize one component over another based on taste and dietary preferences,’ ChatGPT added.

‘Additionally, regional variations in the traditional English breakfast can influence the prominence of certain components.’

The news comes shortly after Metals4U surveyed 500 tradespeople about their favourite parts of a full English

Like ChatGPT, the participants rated bacon, sausage and fried egg highly.

However, both Baked Beans and toast were rated as some of the least-favoured items.

Instead, the participants said that grilled mushrooms should be included on the ultimate breakfast.
