It’s one of the most popular travel apps in the UK, but it appears that Trainline is down this morning. 

According to Down Detector, the problems started at around 08:00 GMT and are affecting users across Britain. 

Trainline has confirmed the outage, and says it is ‘working hard on a fix’. 

‘We’re experiencing technical difficulties with our app and website which means some customers may be unable to search for or book rail and coach journeys,’ it posted on X (formerly Twitter). 

‘We’re very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause however please be assured we’re working hard to fix it.’

Of those who reported problems, 92 per cent said they were struggling with the app, while five per cent were having issues with ticketing. 

The remaining three per cent said the problem was with Trainline’s website.

The website’s ‘heat map’ of user-submitted problem reports showed that affected customers were mostly in London and Manchester, although there were reports across the country. 

Several frustrated travellers have taken to X to discuss the outage. 

‘trainlineapp makes me want to buy a car because i genuinely cannot stand their unreliability,’ one user tweeted. 

‘Yep, delayed my journey and cost me extra to travel – pretty poor,’ another added. 

Meanwhile, one vented: ‘This is getting pathetic. It’s starting to happen on a regular basis.’
