GERMAN Airline giant Lufthansa has unveiled the designs for a jaw-dropping party plane – and the exorbitant price is too much even for a millionaire.

Dubbed the “superyacht of the skies”, the project will cost a whopping £325millionn, making it one of the most expensive aircraft available.

Created by the German design studio Lufthansa Technik, each project would see a standard passenger Airbus 1330 wide-body airliner turn into a luxury party plane.

The designers of the extravagant concept said that it would be less of a plane and more of a “multifunctional exploration vessel” that just happens to fly.

The concept aircraft – named the Explorer – has a central lounge area with a projection system built into the walls and ceilings that display virtual day and night skies, as well as aquariums.

Digital renders show the multifunctional lounge can be transformed into a “flying discotheque” by night for VIPs to party in mile-high style.

There is a full-blown balcony with a glass floor that can open up to offer passengers a unique view of the surroundings at an elevation of 13ft.

Millionnaire guests can enjoy the extravagant bedrooms and other living areas which are located at the rear end of the aircraft.

And a few offices, a bar, a dining area and a conference space, as well as several bathrooms.

Lufthansa Technik said the sleeping arrangements will provide passengers “with all comforts and amenities” that they would otherwise expect at a premium five-star stay.

According to the designs, fitness and wellness spa facilities will also be available in the multifunctional room – and can be converted into a “flying hospital room” in case of an emergency.

VIP guests can even bring their luxurious cars onboard, which will be “attractively presented” in the mobility lounge on the lower deck.

When the party plane takes off, passengers can see and cherish the fleet of cars through the glass floor on the main deck.

Wieland Timm, Head of Sales VIP & Special Mission Aircraft Services at Lufthansa Technik, said: “In yacht building, multifunctional exploration vessels have now become a class in their own.

“For this fast-growing target group of VIP world explorers, we have therefore now created a flying platform for the first time.

‘Unlike a yacht, however, our Explorer aircraft allows passengers to travel to the other side of the globe within hours and set up their base camp for further activities.

“This will open up completely new possibilities for VIP explorers.”

The party plane can carry up to 12 VIP passengers, but the studio can vary the design to accommodate up to 47 people.

The redesign of a passenger airliner could also feature an “individual owner’s module” with a master bedroom and bathroom, as well as an office or bigger areas for the crew and team.

Meanwhile, an incredible futuristic plane dubbed “the disruptor” is being developed to tackle the problem of carbon emission and noise.

Also known as D8 Airliner, it is a joint project by Aurora Flight Sciences, MIT, and engine maker Pratt and Whitney under NASA’s sponsorship of $ 2.9 million.

Also, another groundbreaking concept of 171ft super wings on Boeing’s X-plane is currently being tested.

The Boeing Transonic Truss-Braced Wing airliner (TTBW) is being developed in collaboration with NASA since 2010.

If successful, these new models will take off to the skies in 2030-2035.
