Super-Mute

There’s an extremely handy PS5 trick that is very easy to miss.

It’s built into one of the buttons on your controller, but you might never have used it.

Many gamers will already know that pressing the LED bar below the PS Button mutes your DualSense button.

You’ll know it’s muted because the light will turn orange.

However, fewer gamers might realise that if you hold down this button, it’ll mute your entire PS5 system.

This is a very simple way to quickly mute the PS5 without having to reach for your remote control.

You can unmute the PS5 by holding the button down again.

Haptics and vibrations

One of the best DualSense features is its impressive array of vibrations and “haptic” feedback to make you feel like you’re in the game.

It means your PlayStation gaming sessions are much more immersive, and makes the DualSense a standout joypad.

However, there are a couple of reasons why you might not always want it on.

For a start, it can drain more battery life so your controller lasts less long.

But more importantly, it can prove distracting – and potentially even a hindrance – if you’re playing a competitive game.

So if you’re trying to quickly and accurately shoot in a multiplayer title, you might want to turn these features off – or reduce them.

Just go to Control Centre > Accessories > DualSense Wireless Controller > Controller Settings > Vibration Intensity / Trigger Effect Intensity.

Phone fun

You probably spend most of your DualSense time playing PS5 games.

But don’t forget: you can also connect your DualSense controller to other devices too.

One of the best ways to take advantage of this is by connecting it to your iPhone or Android.

That way you can play great smartphone games using your PS5 controller – like Call of Duty Mobile.
