ANDROID owners are about to receive a feature that will help them digitise their entire wallet – not just the bank cards.

If you have a bus pass, gym membership card, parking pass, or even library card, they can soon all be downloaded into the Google Wallet.

While it is currently only available on Pixel phones, it is hoped to be rolled out to other Android devices in the future

It’ll be a lifesaver for folks who find themselves regularly forgetting their physical wallet or misplacing loyalty cards.

Android users can upload digital versions of their loyalty cards from just a photo or screenshot, as long as it has a barcode or QR code.

If the image doesn’t have a barcode or QR code, an error message will appear explaining the issue.

Google hinted at the feature in June.

However, it was notably absent from the big Android 14 update that was unveiled in September.

While it is currently only available on Pixel phones, it is hoped to be rolled out to other Android devices in the future.

According to Android Central, the feature is part of an update landing on Pixel devices yesterday.

It may “take a while” for the update to reach all Pixel users, Phone Arena reported.

The feature, so far, has only been spotted on the sparkly new Pixel 8 line-up and the Pixel Fold.

The upcoming update is also set to include a toggle to enable or disable so-called “success animations”, which pop-up after completing a transaction.

Many users get along nicely with the pop-up celebration to mark a new purchase.

But others complained that it is a time-waster, and annoying when trying to make a payment quickly.
