IPHONE owners may be making two charging mistakes that are actually draining their device’s battery life.

Today’s iPhone batteries may be long-lasting but people can still make mistakes while charging them.

This, in turn, diminishes a battery’s lifespan, and in some cases even damages it.

Here’s how you can protect and further preserve your iPhone’s battery.

LOWER SCREEN BRIGHTNESS

One of the simplest ways you can preserve battery life is by adjusting your screen brightness.

“Dim the screen or turn on Auto-Brightness to extend battery life,” Apple noted on its website.

To lower your screen’s brightness, open the Control Center and then drag the Brightness slider to the bottom.

You can also enable Auto-Brightness to adjust your screen to lighting conditions automatically.

To activate this feature, go to Settings > Accessibility. Tap Display & Text Size, then turn on Auto-Brightness.

UTILIZE WI-FI

You may not know this, but using a cellular network to access data depletes a lot of your device’s power.

However, a Wi‑Fi connection uses less power than a cellular network.

As such, Apple recommends keeping Wi‑Fi on at all times.

To turn on Wi‑Fi, go to Settings > Wi‑Fi to access a Wi‑Fi network or connect to one.

OTHER TIPS

We are all guilty of using our iPhone while it’s charging, but this can be extremely damaging to its battery.

There is solid evidence that using your phone while it’s hooked up to the charger not only reduces battery life but disrupts the charge cycle as well.

This is especially the case if you are charging your phone while playing a game or watching videos.

If you’re serious about preserving your iPhone battery, which can save you money in the long run, then you also need to keep it cool.

A cool iPhone also helps to maintain the battery’s lifespan and improve the overall functionality and longevity of your device.
