MINECRAFT 1.21 is coming next year, and will be a major update for the block-building game.

It will add some huge new features that we didn’t think we’d see outside of fan-made mods.

The live reveal show was streamed yesterday (Sunday, October 15, 2023), and a lot of new information was shared.

If you don’t have time to watch, here’s all the announcements revealed from Minecraft Live 2023.

Minecraft 1.21 release date – Minecraft Live 2023

No exact release date for the new update has been announced, but we have been told it will be around Mid-2024.

Both 1.19 and 1.20 were released on June 7, so we expect it to be at least around this date.

Armadillos – Minecraft Live 2023

Despite almost half a million Minecraft players calling to stop the mob vote, we still have our winner.

Armadillos will be added into the game, beating out both penguins and crabs.

Those who boycotted the vote were calling for an end to the mob vote, and instead asking for all three to be added, but Mojang will continue on despite this.

The Crafter – Minecraft Live 2023

While The Crafter has been seen in fan-made mods before, it’s not anything that we thought would be officially into the game.

This is a redstone device that can automatically craft certain items for the player.

We don’t know exactly how it will work just yet, but it will allow people to craft required items far more quickly.

The Breeze – Minecraft Live 2023

We have a brand new hostile mob being added with 1.21 called The Breeze.

These enemies are like the Blaze, except they will use wind attacks rather than fire attacks.

They will shoot wind projectiles that make small explosions with a knockback effect.

Trial Chambers – Minecraft Live 2023

These and other enemies will be found in the all-new combat trials.

They will spawn underground, and will hold waves of enemies in exchange for rewards.

Combat trials will supposedly be more difficult than the old Minecraft dungeons as enemies are more random.

Copper Bulbs – Minecraft Live 2023

Lightbulbs are now craftable, improving your options when it comes to lighting your creations.

Like copper blocks, these will oxidise, making them dimmer over time, but you can wax them to choose your level of brightness.
