PlayStation adds fifteen more free games – including a 97-rated game

FEW games reach the highs of a 90s rating, but one of the new free titles on PlayStation has far surpassed it.

With an incredible 97 on review aggregate site Metacritic, it is one of the highest-rated games of all time.

This October, PlayStation is adding fifteen games to PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium service.

These games are in addition to the three games which are already available to PS Plus Essential subscribers.

They are free to all members of the subscription service and add to the hundreds of games already on the platform.

It’s a bumper crop this month, with a number of popular and critically acclaimed games.

Disco Elysium is the highlight of October’s PS Plus offerings: a dark, narrative murder mystery, where you decide how you will solve the case.

Elite Dangerous is one of the most popular games of all time, with millions of players joining in on space exploration.

Gotham Knights is an action game based on the Batman universe, which was only released late last year.

Fitting in with the theme of Halloween month, there are a number of horror games being added to the service.

Alien Isolation is a well-renowned survival horror game where you play against an alien roaming around the spaceship.

The Dark Pictures Anthology is a collection of horror games developed by the team behind Until Dawn and The Quarry.

Outlast 2 is another atmospheric horror game where you must fight for survival.

Finally, Dead Island is a zombie horde game with tongue-in-cheek humour and lots of different weapons.

This month also includes Far: Changing Tides, an atmospheric adventure, and Gungrave Gore, a third-person action shooter.

• Dead Island Definitive Edition

PS Plus Premium will include the above games plus these four.

• Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny
• Ape Escape Academy
• IQ Final
