Former president argues court should wait for appeal on pre-trial ruling before moving forward

Donald Trump is trying to halt his New York fraud trial five days into proceedings, arguing that the court should wait for an appeal on a pre-trial ruling before moving forward.

New York judge Arthur Engoron found the former president and others working for the Trump Organization guilty of financial fraud in a ruling last week. Engoron ordered the dissolution of Trump’s companies in the state, effectively ending the former president’s ability to run his real estate business.
