The Talos Principle is a first-person puzzle game in the vein of Portal, but with a more serious tone inspired by philosophical sci-fi novels.
The game comes from Croatian studio Croteam and British writer Tom Jubert, known for his work on the acclaimed space game FTL: Faster Than Light.
Steam is now offering the game at a steep discount as part of a limited-time sale alongside other Croteam titles.
The Talos Principle, which normally costs £29.99 / $29.99, is now selling for £2.49 /$2.99; that’s 90% off and the cheapest the game has ever been.

The puzzle video game is a very special one, mixing immersive puzzle-solving with deep philosophical themes.
Sitting at a respectable 85/100 score on review aggregator Metacritic, the game has also garnered “Overwhelmingly Positive” reviews on Steam.
Its story, told through a journey featuring more than 120 puzzles, treats serious and topical questions about humanity’s interplay with technology.
Similarly to Portal, in The Talos Principle you’ll be manipulating your environment to make your way through various levels.

Steam players have until October 10, 2023, to grab the offer, before the game returns to its regular price.
This deal on The Talos Principle comes just in time, ahead of the release of The Talos Principle 2, which launches November 2, 2023.
