And the statement piece is a particular bargain, considering women pay hundreds of pounds to get similar styles custom made.

Glamorous bride captain hats have been gaining popularity as a must-have piece for your hen do.

Celebrities like Geordie Shore star Holly Hagan and TOWIE alumni Billie Faiers have been known to sport the caps on their pre-marriage celebrations.

To get a bespoke one made for yourself through marketplace sites like Etsy or Facebook, you can pay up to £200.

Shopper Sarah Woodhead discovered the style of hat being flogged for just £10.99 in Home Bargains

“Quite a good price if anyone has a hen do coming up,” she said on Facebook.

“I know custom ones can cost at least £50 to £100.

“These were in Home Bargains on Sheffield Parkway.”

The glistening hat reads “BRIDE” in diamantes on a background of white iridescent sequins.

Brides-to-be vowed to make their way to their local Home Bargains before the statement hats sell out.

However, not everyone was convinced on the quality of the bargain.

Some shoppers dubbed them “nowhere near as nice as the custom ones” and claimed they “look cheap”.

“Speaking as someone that makes these, they’re very poorly made and quality isn’t great at all,” one woman claimed.

“But I guess you get what you pay for.”

As the cost of living continues to pinch Britain’s purses, many are looking for ways to bring down the overall cost of their nuptial celebrations.

“I guess this is a cheaper alternative if you are on a budget and can’t afford a custom one,” one shopper said in defence of the hats.

“Especially as it’s only going to be worn for a short amount of time.”
