Users vent frustration on social media

Steam users have taken to social media this morning to vent their frustration after the gaming platform went down.

One user said: “Is Steam down? Tried to load it this morning and it looks like the client has updated, and now I can’t log in. I just get error e20.”

A second commented: “So @Steam is down…@Steam_Support fix it pls.”

This heat map shows where user-submitted problem reports are concentrated over the past 24 hours.

It is common for some problems to be reported throughout the day.

Downdetector only reports an incident when the number of problem reports is significantly higher than the typical volume for that time of day.

Steam down for hundreds of users

Hundreds of Steam users have been hit with issues this morning after the gaming platform appears to be experiencing issues.

According to DownDetector, over 2,500 users have reported issues with the site, with many having problems logging in.

What problems are users having?

Most issues have been with logging in as 77% of reports suggested.

Meanwhile, 19% had problems with server connection while another 4% could’nt complete purchases.

Problems mainly affecting the UK

It seems that the problem is mainly in the UK.

Most reports have come from London as suggested by the heat map below.

Steam is down

Reports on DownDetector suggest that users are having problems accessing their Steam accounts.

The problem seem to have started 10am today.
