A BELOVED bar is shutting its doors with “deepest regret” and fans say it was their “second home”.
Rock bar Jimmy’s on Bold Street in Liverpool will be closing down for good at the end of September.

The bar was founded by bandmates from One Night Only George and Jimmy Craig.
It is well-known in the live music scene and often hosts new and upcoming rock bands.
But sadly it will open its doors for the final time on Saturday, September 30.
Revellers can head down there to have a final boogie until 3am Sunday (October 1).

Jimmy’s also has a bar in Manchester, and although this venue won’t be affected, it will be the only one left.
In a statement posted on Facebook the bar said: “It is with our deepest regret to say that despite our best efforts, we must announce the imminent closure of Jimmy’s Liverpool.
“We had an incredible first 6 months when we launched the venue in August 2019 just before COVID, but it’s been an uphill battle since then to keep things going amongst everything that has been happening in the world and particularly the hospitality sector.
“The directors and the staff have done everything possible with various initiatives and events to keep things going but we have been working against post-COVID conditions and a major downturn in the economy which has become increasingly worse as time has gone by.”

The bar also thanked everyone who has supported Jimmy’s throughout its journey.
It said: “It would be great to give Jimmy’s Liverpool the send off it deserves so if you’re in the area please pop in for a pint and a farewell, see a gig, grab a burger and enjoy it one final time from Tuesday through to Saturday this coming week.”
Fans shared their devastation on social media with one declaring the bar was their “second home”.
Another wrote: “Sad news, such a great venue.”
Someone else said: “Another huge blow for live music in Liverpool.”
Businesses have been struggling following the aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic.
High costs have meant that small businesses especially have struggled to stay afloat.
Jimmy’s isn’t the only one pulling the plug on one of its locals.
Garden store Cants of Colchester, located on the old A134 between Colchester and Great Horkesley, will close at the end of this month.
In an email sent to customers, the Nayland Road business said: “It is with regret to inform you that we will be closing our doors for the final time at the end of September.
“It has not been an easy decision to make, but business has become a lot quieter, and the directors are getting too long in the tooth to carry on.”
The business has now launched a huge closing down sale and shoppers can get discounted flowers, plants and other sundries.
While England At Home in Brighton was once dubbed a Dunelm rival, sadly pulled the shutters down for good amid a string of high street store closures.
The owners said goodbye last week (September 21) and sent a sad farewell to their disappointed shoppers.
But bigger brands are also feeling the pinch.
High street giant Wilko fell into administration on August 10.
All 400 of its stores will be closed by the beginning of October.
Several Wetherspoons pubs have also been closing down with more to come.
The Moon and Bell in Loughborough is set to close its doors to punters for good on Sunday, October 1.
It comes after The Sun revealed that Wetherspoons has put a further 11 pubs up for sale only a year after it marketed 32 of its boozers.
