GOOGLE Calendar is currently suffering an outage causing chaos for users across the globe.
The popular service comes up with a mysterious error message.

The alert reads: “500. That’s an error.
“There was an error. Please try again later. That’s all we know.”
Confused users have taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to find out what’s going on.
“Google calendar is down and I immediately don’t know what I’m supposed to be doing,” one person wrote.
“Ooh goodie @googlecalendar is down … no work for me for the rest of today then ….” another said.
Is Google Calendar down?
A spike in reports was picked up by the Down Detector website from 2.30pm UK time on September 21.
More than 1,500 reports were made in the UK alone, while the US site has over 700.
It’s not clear what has caused the problem as yet.

And Google‘s own service status page hasn’t offered any updates either.
The issue appears to be affecting the desktop version of the popular platform.
Tests by The Sun suggest that the mobile app of Google Calendar is still working.
How can I check if Google Calendar is down?
A good place to start is by checking sites like X / Twitter to see if other users are complaining about the same issue.
Google has its own Google Workspace Status Dashboard which usually details any known problems – though it doesn’t seem to be aware of the problems on September 21 just yet.
