Caleb Nelson shared a tour of his tiny family home on YouTube.

He said: “Hi my name is Caleb Nelson and in 2018 my wife Emily and I decided to buy a school bus to convert into a tiny home so we could also travel out with our son Milo.”

The traveller said: “So our bus is 35 foot long bumper to bumper It’s a 2005 International Fe 300, it’s got 198 000 miles on it right now it goes 65 miles an hour.”

Thing Caleb sorted out was outdoor lighting so his family could sit outside the bus on evenings and camp near the bus.

Caleb said: “This whole thing is illuminated I wanted to be able to see every bit around me at night time right here we just have a six foot toolbox I mounted up underneath.”

The back of the bus holds additional storage and houses the family’s outdoor shower.

He said: “So back here we have our garage and this is where we put and you know like your garage stuff.”

Caleb fitted a Dutch door on the front of the so they can let the air in and a blind comes down to cover the front window when the family want less light.

Inside the bus the family has a multifunction couch which can convert into a full size bed for when they have guests.

Caleb said: “We wanted something that if we’re gonna be in here and it’s a cold rainy day we don’t want to be outside then I want to be comfortable I want to be able to sit and chill and have a slow Saturday morning and relax.”

The family also have an entertainment system. Caleb said: “I fit a 32 inch TV behind this wall so every bit of what you see I built.

The kitchen has massive open floor space for their kids to play and a full size fridge.

Caleb said: “I built these cabinets, I ripped down the trim, I did the Butcher Block countertop, I did the shelf everything you see.”

The pair decided to stick with a two stock burner and ninja toaster to do the majority of their cooking.

The bathroom is fully tiled and acts as a wet room when the privacy screening door is closed.

Caleb managed to fit two bunk beds for their kids which has additional storage while he and his wife sleep in the master bedroom.

Caleb said: “It’s a queen size bed that goes side to side so it took a little bit longer. We also extended it a little bit so we have enough room to be able to stand up and put things underneath the bed.”

The top of the van is fitted with solar panels and the family sometimes go up and sunbathe on their decked roof.
