Two pubs a day disappeared in England and Wales during the first half of this year.
Some 383 pubs were demolished or converted for other uses such as offices or homes between January and June.

Campaigners say the data, compiled by commercial real estate specialists Altus Group, underscores the need for the Government to support venues at the up- coming autumn Budget.
UK Hospitality chief executive Kate Nicholls said: ‘These figures are a stark reminder of the realities facing pubs.
Businesses at the heart of communities gone forever, loyal staff losing their jobs and one less place for locals to eat and drink – this is the real cost of the economic turmoil many are facing.’
UK Hospitality is calling on the Government to extend business rates relief ahead of an ‘almost billion-pound hike’ in rates next April.
