NASA is set to reveal the findings of a major report on “unidentified anomalous phenomena” (UAP) later today.
UAP are “events in the sky that cannot be identified as aircraft or known natural phenomena from a scientific perspective,” according to the US space agency.

But there are currently a very few recorded instances of high-quality observations of UAP.
This makes it “impossible” to draw firm scientific conclusions about their nature, Nasa said in a brief statement prior to the announcement.
A live streamed media briefing, headed by Nasa boss Bill Nelson and other leaders, will begin at 3pm BST (10am EDT) from the Washington headquarters.
The report was commissioned by Nasa in June last year, following a public discussion about UFOs in US Congress in May, where it was revealed there have been over 400 sightings of UAP.
UFO videos were also played to Congressmen as part of the 2022 hearing, with one showing a quick moving spherical object and another of what looked like a perfect triangle glowing green in the sky.
The UAP report aims to find scientific explanations for the phenomena and figure out how to use the data and the tools we have today to learn more about them.
In May last year, it was revealed UAPs were capable of moving unlike any human-made object or vehicle.
In a similar Congressional hearing in July of this year, former military officials shared bombshell details on a so-called UFO retrieval programme, where one claimed UAPs are a result of ‘far superior’ technology.

There have been greater calls for transparency in recent years, as people seek answers about the possibilities of alien life.
“UAPs, whatever they may be, may pose a serious threat to our military and our civilian aircraft, and that must be understood,” Democratic Rep Robert Garcia of California said in the July hearing.
“There has to be a safe and transparent reporting process for pilots both on the commercial side and the military side to be able to report UAPs.
“We should encourage more reporting, not less on UAPs.
“The more we understand, the safer we will be.”
