It’s important to keep checking social media as well because providers often respond directly to customers there.

That could mean mostly Twitter or Facebook.

Downdetector also normally logs these issues – so keep an eye out there too.

How can I contact Plusnet and am I entitled to compensation?

You can get in touch with Plusnet by phone, post or online – see the Plusnet contact website for more information.

You can also speak to Plusnet via its live chat service.

If you’re a mobile customer and you suffer from a lack of service then depending on the circumstance you may be entitled to a refund or account credit.

Contact Plusnet to find out what they can offer you.

You may also have the right to leave if you’re without service for a sustained period of time.

If your problem is still unresolved after eight weeks, you can complain to an independent Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) scheme.

You could be entitled to up to £8 a day if your connection goes down for more than two days.

So that’s around £117 for a fortnight, potentially.

And should your engineer fail to show up, on top of all that, you could get even more.
