JULY was a bit of a quieter month for gaming, but August is starting to ramp things up again.

As we get closer to the holiday period, developers are launching their games free from the rush.

Baldur's Gate 3 is probably the most highly anticipated release.

There are some huge releases out this month, including a new game from Elden Ring developer FromSoftware.

Here’s all the biggest releases coming out in August 2023.

Baldur’s Gate 3

Baldur’s Gate 3 is the long-awaited sequel to the massive fantasy, mediaeval RPG series.

Very story-focused, you will recruit a party of fighters to take down battles in the world of Dungeons and Dragons.

It also contains some very interesting romance options if you’re looking for something different.

Baldur’s Gate 3 will be released on August 3 exclusively for PC, but it will be available for PS5 next month.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Based on the 1974 film of the same name, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre includes many of the same cast and crew from the movie.

This is a survival horror game where you can play solo, or in a team to evade Leatherface.

There will also be PvP combat for those who want a bit more from the game.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre will launch on August 18 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

Immortals of Aveum

From some of the developers behind Deep Space and Call of Duty, Immortals of Aveum is a new FPS IP.

Featuring magical gameplay, the player will cast both offensive and defensive spells to stay healthy and progress.

With a mix of fun yet challenging combat, we think this could be one to watch.

Immortals of Aveum will launch on August 22 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon

Over a decade since the last Armored Core game was released, Armored Core 6 is almost here.

From FromSoftware, the developer behind Elden Ring, it will feature the challenging yet fair combat the creators are known for.

The difference here is that Armored Core is based around mech combat, and is said to be more fast-paced than previous FromSoft games.

Armored Core 6 will be released on August 25 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

Sea of Stars

A prequel to the indie smash hit The Messenger, Sea of Stars is a turn-based RPG.

You can recruit a team of up to six people, so solve puzzles and take out enemies you encounter.

In a world-first, it will also be released on PS Plus and Xbox Game Pass on day one.

Sea of Stars will launch on August 29 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Samba de Amigo: Party Central

From the long-running Samba de Amigo series, Party Central is a movement-based rhythm game.

Shaking your JoyCon in time to the music, Samba de Amigo is known for its unique gameplay featuring maracas.

It is also set to launch for VR headsets, such as the Meta Quest, later in the year.
