MOVE TO A HIGHER POSITION

Generally, your router shouldn’t be kept on the floor.

There are exceptions but routers send signals downwards.

That means the higher you place the router, the better.

The rules can change if your router isn’t on the ground floor of your home.

If you’ve got one router providing whole home coverage, it’s best to just choose a central location.

RESTART YOUR ROUTER

Restarting your router can sometimes be the quick and easy fix you need for faster Wi-Fi.

Lots of internet experts recommend this.

AT&T states: “You can fix many common internet issues by restarting your modem.”

It advises unplugging the cord from the back of your device.

You may also need to remove a battery.

Try waiting at least 20 seconds before turning it back on again.

AVOID WIRELESS TECH

Bluetooth speakers and other similar devices emit signals that can interfere with your Wi-Fi speed.

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth use similar radio frequencies, so this can result in disruption to either of them.

Try moving your router away from these to see if the speed improves.
