XBOX has just released a list of 40 games that console owners can play for free.

And unlike Game Pass, you don’t need Game Pass in order to download them and play.

Some of the games included haven’t even been released, giving players a first look.

The library is part of the ID@Xbox Demo Fest, a limited-time event where you can play a number of demos for upcoming Game Pass games.

Available from Tuesday, July 11, 2023, until Monday, July 17, 2023, players have just a week to try out some upcoming games.

There are a few games from the list we recommend, including Lies of P, an upcoming soulslike based on the story of Pinocchio.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is an upcoming puzzle game remaster, from the mind behind the Phoenix Wright series.

Rain World is a pixel art metroidvania in the style of Hollow Knight that has been on Steam a while, but will be heading to Xbox soon.

WrestleQuest is another to look out for. It’s a turn-based RPG set in a toybox world of pro-wrestling, featuring stars of the 90s like Macho Man Randy Savage & The Road Warriors.

Finally, we recommend Sea of Stars, a retro turn-based RPG that is set to be released in August.
