Here’s how you can create your own budget Casa Amor this week . . .

COMING UP ROSY: Flowers such as roses, lilies, and jasmine are all associated with romance and smell incredible during warm evenings.

Fragrant herbs such as rosemary in pots will also add a lovely scent to your outside space.

Plant white flowers such as white lilac, which will appear to glow in the moonlight or on darker evenings.

LIGHT THE WAY: Candles are a great way to set a romantic mood.

Create your own hurricane candles for less by adding some sand or gravel into a large vase and placing a shorter pillar candle into the middle, or recycle jars by rinsing and popping in a tea light.

Lanterns also add a cosy feel. Alternatively, electric flickering faux candles provide a nice ambience.

SOFTLY, SOFTLY: Use cushions, rugs and blankets to make your garden feel comfortable.

You can also hang muslin drapes or sheets over washing lines or garden furniture to create a more intimate atmosphere.

If you have the space, a canopy propped up using poles and a tarpaulin can also add some privacy. Just be extra careful if you’re using candles.

SOUNDS LIKE LOVE: Wind chimes are back on trend. Make your own with shells or old keys, strung on clear fishing line and tie to a stick which you can hang from branches or fences.

RELAXING WATER: A water feature will create a relaxing feeling for date nights.

While it is more of a time commitment to install, you can get up to 20 per cent off selected water features at The Range right now.
