B&M shoppers have been rushing to buy a treat based on an iconic brand – but not everyone is so keen.

The discounter is known for stocking nostalgic sweets and in recent weeks even brought back Wham Space Babies.

Now, customers can get their hands on Fruit Salad wafers.

One shopper posted a photo of the iconic treat on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group.

Alongside the snap, they said: “B and M 59p not sure what they’re like but worth a try.”

The post has been liked nearly 170 times and dozens of shoppers have commented too.

Some are keen to head down to their local B&M branch and snap the treat up, or already have.

One said: “They are fantastic, I love them. I buy two packs every time,” while another added: “I bought some yesterday… opened them had 1… then destroyed the whole pack.”

However, not everyone is a fan of the biscuits.

One shopper said: “My kids spat them out lol,” while another said: “Tasted like cardboard.”

A third added: “They don’t really taste of anything.”

A B&M spokesperson said the Fruit Salad wafers are available to buy at most of its stores, but to check with your local if they have any in stock.

You can find your nearest B&M branch by using the store locator on its website and entering your postcode.

It appears the snack is also on sale in Farmfoods, but it’s not clear at which ones.

We have approached the retailer to find out if its available in all branches and for how long and will update this story once we’ve heard back.

It’s not the first time a nostalgic treat has had shoppers in a frenzy.

McVities recently brought back an iconic discontinued snack back to supermarkets to fanfare.

Happy Faces, which were axed in 2015, were spotted on Asda shelves in May.

Elsewhere, Heinz brought back its controversial baked beans pizza last year.

And Last Christmas, John Lewis brought back it’s Quality Street pick ‘n’ mix stands to customer’s delight.
