Square Enix previously revealed that a two-hour demo of FF16 would be coming before the game releases next month.

As a PlayStation 5 exclusive, only those who own Sony’s latest console can play their way through the first part of the game early.

The demo shows a number of cutscenes which explore more of the game’s story, as well as introducing us to our protagonist Clive in his teenage years.

The demo will also feature combat sections, where players will be able to get a feel for the new fighting system.

The previous entry, Final Fantasy 15, is an exceptionally long game and it took players around 100 hours to see everything it had to offer.

The upcoming sequel will be even longer, so this demo will only give a small slice of everything that’s to come.

We were able to play four-hours as part of a hands-on Final Fantasy 16 preview event, and believe that fans will love the upcoming entry.

Fans thought the demo would be launched at the PlayStation showcase, but it was saved for Final Fantasy’s own showcase

The demo is available right now, launching the morning after the showcase aired.

To download the demo, you can navigate to the PlayStation Store through your PS5 console.

You will then need to search for ‘Final Fantasy 16’ to access the game’s page.

From here you can download the demo directly from the game’s page, and jump into the action as soon as it’s installed.

Save data from the demo will be carried over into the main game, so you won’t lose any progress.
