The number of reported outages for the app and website is currently at more than 600, according to Downdetector.

Downdetector tracks outages and said that “user reports indicate problems at Asda”.

Around 27% of problems are about the app and 33% are about the website.

Asda customers have taken to Twitter to complain about the issue.

One shopper said: “Asda any idea why I can’t get into my account?

“It keeps saying something has gone wrong, please try again later.

“My delivery was due 10am-12pm – no delivery yet and now I can’t even see how many stops away they are.”

Another shopper said: “Asda, I just lost out on £26+ of savings because your app is down.

“Put people on tills, offer the best prices and stop using c**p gimmicks like apps and people will be happier.”

Customers complained that they can’t even change their online password.

“I’m trying to sign into my Asda rewards but it’s not letting me or allowing me to change my password,” said a third shopper.

The Sun has asked Asda when it expects the issue to be resolved.

It comes after the supermarket’s online shopping and rewards service last went down for hundreds of shoppers in May.

Can you claim compensation for outages?

There’s no fixed compensation scheme for supermarket website outages like there is for other industries such as telecoms.

But if being unable to access your account has left you out of pocket for any reason, it’s worth contacting Asda.

You should gather evidence, for example, a delivery receipt, and get in touch with Asda’s customer service team.

For online grocery order issues, you can ring 0800 9520 395 which is free to call from landlines and mobiles.
