Social media and microblogging service Twitter, purchased late last year by the erratic billionaire and electric car manufacturer Elon Musk, is experiencing service outages today.

The outage is just one of many technical issues to have plagued the company in recent months.

According to DownDetector, issues started at around 9:37 Eastern, 13:37 GMT on Friday and affected more than a thousand users across the continental United States.

Frustrated users complained about not being able to see photos or post working links on the platform.

‘Note: Twitter is experiencing international outages for some users,’ NetBlocks posted to the platform, approximately one hour into the technical failure.

‘Incident not related to country-level internet disruptions or filtering.’
