One of the side hustles that Ryan invested his time into was user-generated content creation (UGC).

UGC is when brands use photos and videos of a product taken by internet users and use them on their online platforms for advertisements.

The content is brand-specific and created by customers to then be published on social media and other channels.

UGC can also come in the form of reviews, testimonials and even podcasts.

Speaking to Insider, Ryan recalled his first UGC was of a photo and video of a Christmas tree stand.

He said: “Really, all I had to do was give them a photo of my foot on the ratchet and they paid me £12 ($15)”, adding he got the £48 ($60) product for free, too.

The side hustler claimed that UGC was the easiest part-time gig as it only required a short amount of his time to create and the cash quickly comes flooding in.

Ryan has now made over £390 ($492) through UGC gigs he found through online platforms, and even revealed how he made £48 ($60) after making a video about a bike lock.

The dad-of-two has become well-known on his TikTok channel for comparing and reviewing different side-hustles as the choices online can often be overwhelming.

Ryan is also interested in “hauling junk” and claims this is another side hustle that can have good potential.

But the world of side hustles is not always as simple to get into as social media suggests.

According to Ryan, gigs such as voice work and uploading photos onto sites such as ClickaSnap, are not worth pursuing.

He said these methods can often become expensive if the platform charges membership fee’s and you may need portfolios of work to secure jobs in these sectors.

Through sharing his insight and expertise on side hustles on his social media channels, Ryan has racked up over 100,000 followers.

He has also shared his experiences on popular hustles such as selling digital products on Etsy or starting up a YouTube channel.

Ryan defined side hustles as: “Something that you can do outside of working hours with flexibility.”
