A worldwide hit the music streaming app Spotify, leaving millions of users unable to listen to their favorite tunes.

DownDetector, a website that monitors online outages, reported issues around 7:57am ET.

Both the app and website are experiencing issues, with users citing problems with podcasts and artist pages that show ‘no internet connection.’

Spotify acknowledged the outage shortly after it surfaced and announced ‘everything’s looking much better’ around 9:30am ET.

‘Something’s not quite right, and we’re looking into it. Thanks for your reports,’ it tweeted.

Spotify has 498 million monthly active listeners as of this year, but how many are experienced issues is not clear – it could be everyone.

DownDetector’s outage map showed that major US cities like Boston, New York and Atlanta cannot use the service.

While problems also plagued users in China, the UK, parts of South America and Europe.

Reports focused mainly on issues with the app, accounting for 64 percent of the reports.

Users are also experienced problems with the website (21 percent) and audio streaming (16 percent).
